What am I buying?
You will have bought common ownership in a multimillion dollar resort. When you arrive for your holiday you are not just another guest, you are an owner.
What if I can't use it some year, or I get transferred inter-state?
You own the time you have bought. You can deposit your week(s) with an exchange company and save your week(s) for two years, and also draw from the next year. So if you own one week for example, the exchange company lets you take a four-week holiday in any one year at four different resorts if you want to, or you can rent it, lend it to family or friends. If you have no further use for it, you can sell it.
Would it not be wiser to invest my money and use the interest to finance my holiday?
Sounds fine, but have you considered that you are liable for tax on the interest earned, your invested capital will be ravaged by inflation, the cost of your rental accommodation will increase each year so that you will have to subsidise your investment return more and more.
How are the resort units kept clean and fresh?
Professional cleaning crews clean each Resort unit thoroughly before the next owners arrive. Linen and towels are replaced weekly.
May I send someone else to the resort in my place, or bring additional guests?
Yes, as the owner of your Timeshare villa or apartment, you may send someone in your place or bring guests limited only by the maximum occupancy of the accommodation. There is no charge for doing so. Your guests or representatives are entitled to the full benefits and use of the amenities at the resort. You may also take guests (again, limited by the allowable maximum occupancy) when you exchange to other resorts.
As an owner, what protection do I have if someone else damages my accommodation?
Owners tend to have a lot of pride in their Timeshare ownership. While intentional damage or misuse is minimal, such rare occurrences are the responsibility of the timeshare owner who causes them.
Who operates the Resort?
A professional resort management team is employed to run the resort for you and your fellow timeshare owners. They are professionally trained and experienced staff, thereby assuring excellence both in the operation of the resort as well as in appearance and upkeep.
How can I be sure that my asset is being maintained in my absence?
The management/maintenance fee ensures that staff who also inspects each accommodation unit before and after each occupancy performs weekly upkeep and cleaning. If inspection identifies major damage through negligence, the cost of repair or replacement is billed to the responsible owner. When you arrive, you can be sure that it will be in first class condition.
What guarantee do I have to get an exchange I want?
